VocabuDaily is a free, open-source word-of-the-day app. This policy explains what limited data is collected when you use the app and how it is used.
VocabuDaily may collect anonymous crash reports and basic usage diagnostics through the Expo platform (the framework the app is built on). This data helps identify and fix bugs. It does not include any personally identifiable information.
If you opt in to daily word notifications, Apple generates a device token that is used solely to deliver notifications to your device. This token is managed by Apple’s Push Notification service (APNs) and is not stored on any VocabuDaily server.
When the app fetches the word of the day, a request is sent to the Wordnik API. Wordnik may log these API requests in accordance with their own privacy policy. VocabuDaily does not receive or store any personal data from these requests.
VocabuDaily relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Wordnik API | Word of the day content | wordnik.com/privacy |
| Expo | App framework & diagnostics | expo.dev/privacy |
| Apple APNs | Push notification delivery | apple.com/privacy |
VocabuDaily does not operate any servers or databases that store user data. Crash and diagnostic data collected through Expo is subject to Expo’s retention policies (typically 90 days).
VocabuDaily does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app displays dictionary content from Wordnik, which may occasionally include mature vocabulary words.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
